So from what I can tell, memes are the chain letters of the blog world.  I’ll try anything once, and this one’s about books, so I feel good supporting that.

I’ve been tagged by The Thoughtful Dresser:

  3. Find the fifth sentence.

Here are my three sentences (well, three lines of dialogue), from the excellent-so-far (I’m on page 307) “Half of a Yellow Sun,” by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie:

‘I hope so too.  We will start cleaning the room in time.  I want it to be spotless for her.’

‘It will be spotless, mah, don’t worry.’

Ugwu liked Aunty Arize.  He rememberd her wine-carrying ceremony in Umunnachi about three years ago, how plump and bubbly she had been and how he had drunk so much palm wine that he had nearly dropped the infant Baby.
